ARCH409T – Disaster-Resistant Urban and Architectural Design
This course aims to enhance students' decision-making processes regarding earthquakes, floods, landslides, climate change, and other natural hazards affecting settlements and buildings. Through their studio projects, students analyzed these risks and explored spatial and architectural strategies to mitigate their impacts. The course encouraged students to apply the knowledge, skills, and values acquired in ARCH409T to their design decisions in real project areas. Nearly all participants examined the potential effects of natural hazards and sought to integrate resilient design principles into their projects.
