Operating Room Services Program

Program Overview
The Operating Room Services Program trains skilled healthcare professionals to become integral members of surgical teams. These professionals, known as Operating Room Services Technicians, are responsible for preparing the operating room, handling surgical instruments and medical devices, and assisting surgeons during procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities
Operating Room Services Technicians work under the supervision of the operating room specialist or, in their absence, the surgeon performing the procedure. Their key responsibilities include:

  •  Pre-Surgery Preparation: Setting up the operating room, surgical table, and required instruments.
  • Surgical Assistance: Actively supporting the surgical team throughout the procedure.
  • Post-Surgery Duties: Ensuring the sterilization, maintenance, and proper storage of surgical instruments.
  • Operating Room Maintenance: Overseeing the cleaning, storage, and supply of all surgical equipment, maintaining sterilization protocols, and keeping records.
