Program Overview
The optical sector is a specialized healthcare field that focuses on correcting or alleviating visual impairments diagnosed by ophthalmologists. Opticians play a vital role in ensuring that prescribed optical treatments are accurately implemented for patients.

Role of an Optician
Opticians are trained professionals who:

  • Interpret prescriptions prepared by ophthalmologists for vision correction.
  • Provide optical instruments tailored to patient needs.
  • Measure, assemble, and adjust eyeglasses to ensure a precise fit.
  • Deliver customized eyewear to patients based on personal specifications.

Graduates of the Opticianry Program may also continue their education by completing a bachelor's degree through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS).
