The competition's concept aimed to inspire the design of smart furniture that effectively addresses user needs and challenges, optimizes space utilization, and fulfills at least one of the functions of seating, resting, working, or storage while maintaining sustainability and high export potential.
At the award ceremony in İzmir, students from our university's Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture, Department of Industrial Design—Asu Yılmaz, Öykü Akkaya, and Fatma Doğa Bilgiç—secured third place with their "Reamy" children's chair project.
The "Reamy" project is designed to ignite children's imagination, allowing them to reshape furniture elements according to their own creative visions. Inspired by the "Play Couch" concept, this design offers children a playground-like experience, enabling them to create play structures and characters, fostering both creativity and interactive learning.
This innovative and functional design introduces a fresh perspective on enhancing children's play and educational experiences.
We congratulate our students on their outstanding work and wish them continued success!
