Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
The department was founded in 1996 as one of the first engineering departments of Işık University and it has been giving graduates since 2000. Currently, the department offers two undergraduate programs: the Electrical and Electronics Engineering program and the Biomedical Engineering Program which was initiated in 2010. The department also offers double major and minor programs to the other departments of the university. At the graduate level, M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs in Electronics Engineering are offered. Education language in all these programs is English.
The mission of the department is to provide an excellent quality education in electrical and electronics engineering; to ensure that its graduates become engineers with sound work ethics, an awareness of universal values, and entrepreneurial skills, who are capable of developing and applying state of the art knowledge and technologies to satisfy the local and global needs of the society in the contemporary areas of electrical and electronics and biomedical engineering.
Education and research activities in the department cover all major current areas of electrical and electronics and biomedical engineering, particularly focusing on the topics of telecommunications, signal processing and electronic circuits and systems.
