Admission Requirements

Required Documents for Application to the Thesis and Non-Thesis Cybersecurity Master’s Programs

The application requirements for the 2024-2025 Fall Semester for the Cybersecurity Graduate Programs are as follows:
 

a) Thesis-Based Cybersecurity Master’s Program
Applicants must provide:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an official graduation certificate or provisional graduation certificate
  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.00
  • Minimum ALES score of 55 (Quantitative) or an equivalent GRE/GMAT score
  • Two reference letters (no specific format required)
  • Statement of purpose (no specific format required)

b) Non-Thesis Cybersecurity Master’s Program
Applicants must provide:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an official graduation certificate or provisional graduation certificate
  • One reference letter (no specific format required)
     

c) Calculation of Admission Score

  • Thesis-Based Master’s Program: 
    o    50% of ALES (Quantitative) score
    o    20% of undergraduate GPA
    o    30% of written exam & interview score
    o    Admission is based on ranking according to the final admission score.
  •  Non-Thesis Master’s Program: 
    o    50% of undergraduate GPA
    o    50% of interview score
    o    Admission is based on ranking according to the final admission score.
     

d) Transfer Applications

  • Students wishing to transfer from the Non-Thesis Cybersecurity Master’s Program to the Thesis-Based Program must submit a written petition to the Graduate School Institute either in person or by mail.
  • The petition must include: 
    o    ALES (Quantitative) score of at least 55
    o    Master’s transcript
  • All required documents must be uploaded online via the Işık University Graduate School Institute’s application portal:
    https://isikuniversity.my.site.com/enstitu/s/
  • Applicants who do not yet have their graduation certificate or diploma at the time of application can submit it at the final enrollment stage. However, failure to provide the document by that time will result in cancellation of enrollment.
  • Completing the application process does not guarantee acceptance into the program. Applicants who have submitted all necessary documents will undergo an evaluation process that includes a written exam and an interview to determine final acceptance.
     

Important Dates:

September 2, 2024 – Final application deadline for Fall 2024 graduate programs (excluding distance education programs – UZEM).
