Internship Guidelines and Documents

The Sector Internship aims to help students of the Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture, Department of Visual Communication Design, become familiar with the work environments and operational structures in the industry during their studies. It also aims to provide knowledge about the workflow and application techniques of communication design and to help students gain expertise in their chosen fields.

The total duration of the internships must not be less than 40 working days. Internships are divided into two parts and take place after the completion of the second academic year, following this order and content:

ışık

1. GITA 3911 - Sector Internship I

  • Duration: 20 working days
  • Prerequisite: Must have been enrolled in the primary program for at least four semesters and hold junior (third-year) status.

2. GITA 4911 - Sector Internship II

  • Duration: 20 working days
  • Prerequisite: Must have been enrolled in the primary program for at least six semesters and hold senior (fourth-year) status.

Internships are usually conducted during academic breaks and can be completed separately or as a continuous 40-day internship.
Students in their final year who are available at least three full working days per week may complete their internships during the academic year or summer school.

Conducting multiple internships at the same company requires approval from the Internship Committee.

Students are responsible for finding their own internship placements.

At least 15 days before the start date of a mandatory/voluntary internship, students must email the following scanned documents to their assigned internship advisor and submit all approved documents to the relevant Faculty/Vocational

School Department Secretariat:

  • 1 Internship Application Form
  • Employer Information Form
  • Copy of ID card
  • 1 passport-sized photo attached to the form

Important Notes:

  • Forms must be completed digitally. Handwritten forms will not be accepted.
  • Late submissions will not be processed.
  • SGK declarations will be sent to students via email by the Faculty/Vocational School Department Secretariat before the internship start date.

Documents Required for Internship Submission:

  • Compulsory/Voluntary Internship Form
  • Employer Information Form
  • Declaration and Commitment
  • Double-sided ID card scan

Forms submitted by students via email must not be sent as photographs taken with a mobile phone. Since these forms are considered official documents, they must be professionally scanned and properly formatted.

Forms with unclear, skewed images (e.g., taken on a bed, blanket, or tablecloth, showing the student's hand) will not be accepted for review or legal processes.

Students can scan all forms as a single document using a printer scanner or use a mobile scanning application such as CamScanner.

  • Forms must be completed digitally. This requirement applies to all submission processes. Forms downloaded from the website are designed for digital completion.
  • The Internship Application Form must include a photo. Students can either manually attach a printed photo and scan the form or digitally insert a photo into the form before printing.
  • The Internship Application Form must be signed and stamped by the company. Students can either:
    • Deliver the form in person to the company for approval, or
    • Email the form to the company, which will print, sign, and stamp it before scanning and returning it to the student via email.
