The philosophy symposium themed "Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence", organized by the Rectorate and the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Örsan K. Öymen, was held with great interest.
The opening speech of the symposium was delivered by Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mehmet Serdar Sarıgül. Following that, our university faculty member Prof. Dr. Örsan K. Öymen presented a talk titled “An Ontological, Epistemological, and Ethical Analysis of Artificial Intelligence,” in which he explored not only the technical aspects of AI but also its philosophical dimensions in depth.
Among the guest speakers, Prof. Dr. Zekiye Kutlusoy from Maltepe University gave a presentation titled “Artificial Intelligence as One of the Prominent Issues in Contemporary Philosophy,” in which she addressed the fundamental philosophical questions and debates raised by artificial intelligence.
The symposium concluded with a presentation by Dr. Tufan Kıymaz from Bilkent University, titled “The Role of Philosophy in the Future of Artificial Intelligence.” Kıymaz shared with the audience the multifaceted intersections between technology and philosophy.
