Prof. Dr. Rabia Karakaya Polat Joins COST Project "CORENet CA20107"

12 June 2023

Prof. Dr. Rabia Karakaya Polat stated that the project aims to create an interdisciplinary network across Europe to generate knowledge, exchange information, and build capacity at the intersection of migration and religious diversity.

Highlighting the urgent social context that led to the formation of this network, Prof. Dr. Karakaya Polat emphasized that the influx of migrants and Syrian war refugees into Europe in recent years has become a major political issue and social challenge. She added that projects conducted within this network will serve as key tools for capacity-building, knowledge exchange, and analyzing the challenges and potential solutions to these pressing issues.

The project network seeks to overcome social divides within and between European countries by contributing to existing social science research on migration and religious diversity through an innovative approach.
Launched on October 21, 2021, the project will run for four years, concluding on October 20, 2025.
