About

At Işık University, Quality Management Activities encompass all efforts related to Accreditation, Quality Assurance, and the Bologna Process across various units. These quality management activities are conducted under the leadership of the Rector and coordinated by the Quality Coordinator with the participation of all stakeholders.

The Quality Coordination Office operates under the Rector’s authority and is tasked with ensuring the university’s quality assurance by coordinating the implementation of quality policies. These policies, aligned with the institution's mission, vision, and values, are executed in the areas of education, research, administration, and community service using a total quality management approach based on continuous improvement and active stakeholder participation.

Areas Supported by the Quality Coordination Office to the Quality Commission

  • Developing and Promoting a Quality Culture: Planning educational and similar activities to cultivate and spread a quality culture throughout the university.
  • Establishing Internal and External Quality Assurance Systems: Conducting studies to build the university’s quality assurance frameworks.
  • Coordinating Unit Quality Commissions: Overseeing and monitoring the activities of these commissions.
  • Formation of Temporary Working Groups or Subcommittees: Recommending and coordinating the establishment of temporary groups or committees when necessary.
  • Identifying, Monitoring, and Improving Existing Work Processes: Assessing current processes for opportunities to enhance quality.
  • Establishing a Documentation Infrastructure: Creating a robust framework for documentation.
  • Coordinating with the Strategy Development Department: Periodically monitoring and reporting the measurable goals and performance indicators of the university’s academic and administrative units.
  • Structuring Programs in Accordance with TYYÇ Standards: Aligning programs with learning outcomes and ensuring the fulfillment of accreditation requirements.
  • Monitoring Stakeholder Expectations and Feedback: Designing, implementing, and reporting on satisfaction surveys for academic staff, administrative personnel, students, and alumni.

Işık University’s quality policy is to conduct its activities in education, research, administration, and community service in alignment with its mission, vision, and values. This is achieved through a total quality management approach that is embraced by all stakeholders and is founded on the principle of continuous improvement.
