For the latest information regarding internship work, please visit the Internship Coordination page by using the link at the top of the page.

Dear Students,

The internship is an opportunity provided to you. Including the internship in your CCR makes it a Mandatory Internship, which provides an advantage in terms of companies’ processes and willingness. An internship is not a burden but an opportunity. Through an internship, you can:

  • Apply the skills you have acquired at our university in an industrial setting.
  • Gain exposure to specific companies, types of companies (corporate, foreign-invested, SMEs, etc.), or industries (communication, finance, mobile network operators, etc.) that you wish to learn about as part of your education.
  • Obtain insights into which sector, company type, or area of expertise you should work in after graduation. The knowledge and experiences you gain during your internship can help guide your selection of elective courses, specialization choices, and the level and direction of your academic efforts.

Considerations for Choosing the Time and Place of Your Internship
To maximize the benefits of your internship, please consider the following:

  • View the internship process not just as an opportunity to gain professional knowledge from the company but as a chance to apply what you have learned in your courses and improve your skills by identifying practical challenges.
  • Do not perceive the internship as a task to be completed but as an opportunity that will contribute to your development.
  • Choose an internship that is challenging enough to contribute to your growth while aligning with your motivation and interests.
  • Internships must be completed on consecutive days, which is why they are scheduled during the summer break. However, students in their final semester before graduation who are enrolled in fewer than three courses per week may complete their internship on consecutive non-class days.
  • You can also complete your internship abroad. For more details, please contact the department head or internship coordinator.

Before the Internship (Application Process)

Once the institution for the internship is determined, four copies of the Internship Application Form must be filled out. After obtaining approval from the internship institution, the student must submit these forms, along with two passport-sized photographs and a copy of their ID card, to the department’s internship officer at least 20 days before the internship begins.

During the Internship

  • Attendance: Throughout the 20-day internship period, adherence to working hours is mandatory. If a student is found to be absent from the company twice during random checks by the internship supervisor, the internship will be canceled.
  • Internship Report: Before starting the internship, students should download and print the internship report template, which is available in English or Turkish (language selection is up to the student). The report should be filled out daily, detailing the work performed each day.

After the Internship

  • Students who complete their internship must prepare their Internship Report according to the Internship Report Preparation Guidelines and submit it to the department’s internship officer by the end of the course add-drop period of the following semester.
  • The student must also complete the first two sections of the Internship Evaluation Form ("Student Information" and "Internship Institution") and submit it to the institution's authorized supervisor. The supervisor will complete the remaining sections of the form and hand it back to the student in a sealed envelope, which must be included in the internship documents without being opened.
  • The internship evaluation will be completed within one month after submission. The internship will either be approved, returned for revision, or rejected. If revisions are required, students must make the necessary corrections and submit the updated documents by the course withdrawal deadline.

Internship Report Preparation Guidelines

The Internship Report is the most important document that demonstrates whether the internship period was productive. It should be carefully completed according to the following guidelines to provide a detailed account of the internship process and the skills acquired:

  • The report must be filled out daily at the internship site and must be signed and stamped by the internship supervisor each day.
  • The report can be written entirely in English or entirely in Turkish.
  • For each day absent, the report must include a company-approved excuse form.
  • The report should document the tasks performed at the workplace, rather than providing general theoretical explanations.
  • Once completed, the report must be spiral-bound before submission.
