Department of Psychology

The science of psychology is the scientific study of the mind, emotions and behavior.

Psychologists all over the world try to answer questions such as:

  • How does memory work?
  • How are psychological disorders recognized and treated?
  • How does the social position of individuals affect their psychological experiences?
  • How do mental abilities change throughout life, from infancy to old age?
  • How is language understood and used?
  • What is emotion?
  • What are the factors that cause people to like each other?

Students of the Department of Psychology learn about the methods, criteria and techniques that make it possible to scientifically investigate people's emotions, thoughts and behaviors, as well as the basic fields of psychology. The aim of psychology education is to enable graduates to develop research and problem-solving skills in areas of interaction related to daily life such as psychological adjustment, organizational behavior, education and training.
