In recent years, the use of information technologies in the business world, as in every field, has been constantly expanding. Along with these developments, the importance of interdisciplinary approaches and applications in the world and in our country is increasing day by day. The Management Information Systems (MIS) Program was established to overcome the lack of manpower in this field and to train people who will conduct research in this field.
In this program, students are taught business management and information technologies within the framework of an interdisciplinary approach. One of the objectives of the Management Information Systems Program is to develop information systems for the business world and to train people who will ensure that these systems are used effectively in management and that the workplace gains competitive power in this way.
For this purpose, students are first taught computer technology concepts (programming, web design, database management, etc.) and business management concepts (economics, marketing, accounting, finance, etc.). Then, through courses that integrate the two fields, students learn concepts such as system development, information systems management, electronic commerce, and decision-making mechanisms. With courses supported by laboratories and projects, students' application skills are developed along with the theory. Students who will prefer this program are expected to be interested in computer technologies and business management. In order to graduate from this department, the student is required to take 131 credit-hours of courses and complete one long internship.
