Art Theory and Criticism Master's Program

The Department of Art Sciences offers a Thesis-Based (Turkish) Master's Program in Art Theory and Criticism, which provides interdisciplinary education at the level of academic expertise in Art Theory and Criticism within the field of Fine Arts.

The program aims to train art theorists and critics who approach art with an integrated perspective of theory and practice, recognizing the specific challenges within the field of artistic practice. The program is designed not only to produce theorists and critics to meet the growing needs of the art world but also to prepare scholars who will support art education in universities from a theoretical and academic perspective in the medium to long term.

Since the Art Theory and Criticism Master's Program is open to students from various disciplines, a Scientific Preparation Program is available for those who require additional background support. This preparation program is provided within the framework of the Undergraduate Program in Visual Arts.
