Our Dean Moderated the "Turkey 2030 Design Vision" Workshop

Prof. Dr. Ö. Osman Demirbaş, Dean of the Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture, represented Işık University at the "Turkey 2030 Design Vision" Workshop organized by the Turkey Design Advisory Council in Gebze Informatics Valley Hosted by Informatics Valley and supported by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Turkish Patent Institute, Prof. Dr. Demirbaş served as a moderator during the workshop sessions and discussions.

Canik Arms Defense Industry Collaboration Meeting

A collaboration meeting was held with Canik Arms Defense Industry Inc., where discussions focused on joint R&D projects. The meeting was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Volkan Günay, Dean of the Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture Prof. Dr. Ö. Osman Demirbaş, and faculty members Prof. Dr. Gülsüm Çiğdem Çavdaroğlu Akkoç, Dr. Lecturer Ayşe Günay, Dr. Lecturer Onur Keskin, Dr. Lecturer Olcay Türkoğlu, and Dr. Lecturer Ali Taner Kuzu, along with Technology and Transfer Office Director Elçin Dilek Kaya. Company owner Utku Aral and other Canik executives participated in the meeting, where they evaluated potential areas for collaborative research and development efforts.

Our Academic’s Invention Officially Patented

The invention "Analog Addition-Subtraction 4-Gate Integrated Circuit", developed by Emeritus Prof. Dr. Cem Göknar, a faculty member of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, has been officially patented by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.

Risk Assessment of Buildings in Şile to Be Conducted

At a meeting attended by Şile Municipality Deputy Mayor Yasin Çakır, Director of Zoning and Urban Planning Seda Ayvalıoğlu, Director of Planning and Projects Ercan Yıldızer, Head of Building Control and Occupancy Oruç Melik Serilmez, and personnel from the Building Control and Occupancy Department, a collaboration was established with our university, which has received authorization from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization to inspect risky buildings

Collaboration Meeting with Istanbul Dudullu Organized Industrial Zone

The meeting focused on future initiatives, including the joint implementation of the KOSGEB TEKMER Project, collaborative R&D efforts, internship opportunities for our students at production facilities operating in the region, and academic support. Discussions were held on innovative steps to be taken in these areas.

Press Conference: Scientific Observations from the Earthquake Zone

A press conference was held at Maslak Campus to present the observations of Dr. Lecturer Ali Sercan Kesten, Dr. Lecturer Önder Umut, and Dr. Lecturer Bora Akşar, faculty members from the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, who were appointed as expert witnesses by order of the Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to conduct investigations in the earthquake-affected region. Dr. Ali Sercan Kesten, who conducted examinations in the provinces affected by the earthquake, reported that over 156,000 buildings were classified as collapsed, requiring immediate demolition, or severely damaged. He also noted that the number of destroyed or heavily damaged housing units was approximately 507,000, while the number of moderately and lightly damaged buildings was around 43,000.
