Industrial Design

The Industrial Design Department was established in 2007 under the Faculty of Fine Arts under the name Industrial Product Design and later joined the Faculty of Architecture and Design in 2014. The curriculum is continuously updated in parallel with the transformations in today's world, where adding value through innovative design has become critically important due to the dynamic nature of the field.

In this studio-based program, students receive education not only in classrooms but also in workshops and computer laboratories. Courses are structured at the intersection of art and technology, as well as design, human sciences, and social sciences.

Through elective courses both within and outside the field, students can specialize according to their interests in areas ranging from product and furniture design to service and interaction design. They can also benefit from minor and double major opportunities. Additionally, students can develop themselves in areas such as design research, design thinking, entrepreneurship in creative industries, participatory design, and service design. The main objective is to equip graduates with the ability to create added value for society and their environment, enabling them to contribute as industrial designers in the rapidly evolving interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary landscape of today's world.

Due to the nature of the field, this program is conducted with a diverse faculty that brings together complementary academic, sectoral, and international experiences. It also aims to prepare students for professional life through university-industry collaboration projects, the Entrepreneurship in Creative Industries course supported by KOSGEB, and mandatory internships.
