Graduation Design Project
Graduation design project topics should preferably be related to experiences gained during internships, engineering problems observed in companies or recommended topics. This is important to increase the applicability of the decision support system to be designed in the project.
The design project should be an experience in which students use the knowledge and skills acquired in previous courses and incorporate engineering standards and realistic conditions/constraints (such as economics, environmental issues, sustainability, manufacturability, ethics, health, safety, social and political issues).
Students must fill out the application form for the graduation project during the registration week and submit it to the department secretariat after having it signed by the project advisor and the head of the department. In the presentations and reports to be made during the project, it is obligatory to comply with the criteria specified in the template and guideline files given below.
Participation in the class work described in the semester course schedule of INDE4902 project is compulsory.
The general outline of the project is defined as follows.

| Project Topic Proposal | The proposed topic for the project must be submitted 2 weeks after the semester starts. It must be approved by the project advisor. The proposal format will be provided by IŞIKIE. |
| Literature Review | 1 month after the topic submission, a first report including a literature review should be submitted. This report should include a summary of relevant research, projects and practices with a list of references. Comparison between Turkey and the world is important. |
| Project | A project manuscript describing the work done must be submitted in the format specified by Işık University. In line with the suggestions of the advisor, the final version must be submitted at least 1 week before the project presentation date. Projects that do not comply with the format must be corrected. |
| Presentation | The work will be presented in front of IŞIKIE professors and the project jury. The presentations are held on the dates determined by the department during the finals period. The presentation is important to explain the work effectively. |
| Seminars | Undergraduate students doing projects must attend seminars organized by IŞIKIE and submit their seminar reports to their project advisors. |
| Article | Project contents should be prepared in the format of an academic paper to be submitted to a conference or journal. The exact format is determined together with the project advisor. |
