MÜDEK Accreditation

The undergraduate programs in Computer Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering at Işık University’s Faculty of Engineering have been accredited by MÜDEK (Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs), the only authorized institution in Turkey for accrediting engineering programs. These programs have been granted accreditation for a period of five years, valid until September 30, 2021. For our other undergraduate programs within the faculty, applications for accreditation will be submitted once a sufficient number of graduates has been reached.
This accreditation by MÜDEK signifies that our educational programs comply with national quality qualification standards and provides quality assurance. Graduates of accredited programs are entitled to receive the “EUR-ACE Label” from the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education, and their degrees are recognized as equivalent in all countries that are members of the Washington Accord (including the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, and other European member countries).

Benefits of MÜDEK Accreditation / the EUR-ACE® Label for Engineering Students and Graduates:

  •  Ensures that the accredited program meets high European and international standards and is recognized by employers across Europe,
  • Facilitates admission to EUR-ACE® labeled master's and doctoral programs offered by other higher education institutions,
  • In countries where the engineering profession is regulated, EUR-ACE® labeled programs meet the academic requirements for becoming a registered or chartered engineer,
  • Facilitates postgraduate mobility under the EU Directive on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications,
  • The EUR-ACE® label is recognized by FEANI (European Federation of National Engineering Associations) as a standard of education for obtaining the “Professional Card,”
  • FEANI automatically includes EUR-ACE® labeled programs in its guide listing the academic requirements for the EurIng (European Engineer) title.
