Dear Işık Members,
Violence against women is a grave violation of human rights, affecting the lives of millions of women across the globe. Beyond physical abuse, psychological, economic, and digital forms of violence also constrict women's living spaces, restrict their freedoms, and infringe upon their fundamental rights.
These forms of violence may sometimes be visible, but are often veiled in silence. Yet, their impact remains invariably deep.
Violence is never acceptable—under any circumstances!
Ensuring that women can live safely, equally, and freely is not only a fundamental individual right, but also a cornerstone of a modern, just, and healthy society.
As members of society, it is our collective responsibility to raise awareness, speak out, resist the normalization of violence, and stay informed about available support mechanisms. Let us not forget that education, awareness, and solidarity are the most powerful tools in the fight against violence towards women.
